One way I try to accomplish this is by providing as much free information as I possibly can for you, my reader! People use the Internet to learn and find the information they want. Welcome to all our new subscribers!!

WOW !!! What an exciting week we've had!!
We had a litter of kittens and Welsh Corgi puppies,
all in the same week... I'm NOT kidding!!

My Welsh Corgis (Luke and Endee)
welcomed their second litter into the world Tuesday.
We are now the proud owners of three new boys
and one new baby girl. I am glad to report
that all are doing well inhabiting MY bedroom space.
 

And speaking of babies, Garden Simply.com
is doing nicely. The search engines haven't picked her up yet,
however, we have new subscribers everyday!
It's good for us computer geeks to get outside once in a while!

Did you know that unless food is mixed with saliva you cannot taste it?

Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) were designed to deal with issues that
HTML cannot handle. CSS is a powerful, flexible way to specify HTML
formatting. It lets you separate the style and layout of your HTML
files from their content, allowing you to control the layout, e.g.
fonts, colors, leading, margins, typefaces, and other aspects of
style, of a Web document without compromising its structure.

In early 2003 they re-built SitePoint.com using only CSS.
Several other major sites such as ESPN.com, FastCompany.com have

Pop-up Blocking Stats

This past week, we've run an interesting experiment on SitePoint.com
to find out exactly how many people are blocking our pop-ups.

The early result based on a sample size of nearly 20,000 unique
visitors: 60%. That's 60% of visitors to our frontpage who were
never exposed to our pop-up for some reason or another.

That includes the 22% who had JavaScript disabled, didn't wait for
our frontpage to finish loading, or hit "stop" before it did and 38%
who had some sort of pop-up blocking software on their computer.
If we discount all visitors who had JavaScript disabled or didn't
wait for our frontpage to finish loading, the pop-up blocking rate is 48%.

So, if you're wondering why your pop-up ad revenue has been decreasing
or your newsletter subscribers aren't signing up like they used to,
you have your answer. The early success of the format will, eventually,
see it become extinct.

Don't rely on pop-ups for ad revenue, nor to help sell your products
or attract newsletter subscribers.
